There are more than 50 companies that sell gas furnaces in addition to other HVAC equipment. Below are the top brands. Choosing from all these brands can really be a challenge. We have installed most every brand listed so if you want our guidance, we usually recommend "York". The reason is simple, fewest callbacks even after several years in service! Of course we are happy to install the customer's preference. Each line below is from the same (parent) company:
Carrier, Bryant, Payne and Tempstar (Carrier) Lennox, Ducane and Armstrong (Lennox) Rheem and Ruud (Rheem) Goodman, Amana and Janitrol (Goodman) York, Coleman and Luxaire (York) Maytag, Westinghouse, Frigidaire and Kelvinator (Maytag) Trane and American Standard (Trane)
How much does a new furnace cost? Most HVAC contractors are reluctant to quote pricing up front without coming out to do a formal bid and we require that also, however most of the time the square footage dictates the size and cost of the job. After being in the trade nearly 30 years, the price doesn't deviate much from the tables below. Realizing that there can always be a special circumstance. The prices below are the total job including equipment and installation based on a 95.5% efficiency rating. Note: For a NEW AC unit to be installed, (not simply a replacement) it will require a licensed electrician who we can recommend but is not part of the pricing below.
